It was starting out to be a great day. Sunny, warm, got a haircut, and then planned to work on my model aircraft carrier today.

The heat is on. x.x Going to be sunny, warm, and humid for about the next few days. Sure could use some rain here. :(

Just another slow and dull week here. Nothing major going on. That's just the way things are in Wisconsin. This state is about as exciting as watching floorboards warp. :P Haven't really worked much on my next model. I think I've started another monster! x.x I am WAY in over my head on this next kit. O.O It's going to need more detail than I ever would've imagined. I think it'll be 10x worse than what I did on the Montana. O.O

Hopefully plan to meet my best friend on Saturday this weekend for his birthday. Not quite sure what we'll do, but I thought I'd treat him to a shopping trip at some of his favorite anime and hobby stores. :)

Been thinking of "getting out" and just taking a small trip someplace to clear my mind and relax. Right now, I'm tense, frustrated, moody, and have a lot on my mind. Might go someplace next week depending on what days I have off from work.

Over the past few years I've had this LJ, I've watched as various people have added me (or removed me) as a friend, and watched my Friends list grow, decline, grow, etc. But sometimes, I can't remember and keep track of all the names I hear and/or people I may have met at cons or someplace else. That's where this entry comes in. ;)

Has the word "help" suddenly become a dirty word? Whatever happened to people helping other people in this world?
I go and post on a modeling forum a few days ago that I need help on figureing what color to paint the flight deck of my aircraft carrier model. I know it's supposed to be a dark gray color, but there's too many different colors of gray on the market from so many brands, and I want this model to be as accurate as possible. Have I gotten help from other experienced modelers? Nope. So I ask again two days ago for a bit more help. Still nobody answers. WTF? I build good models. Not great ones mind you. But whatever happened to the Pros helping the Novices? This is my first aircraft carrier and I need all the help I can get. If I don't get any help by the end of this month, then fuck'em! *growls*

In other news........

What the hell is happening with Brett Favre? He used to be a Green Bay player that everybody loved and admired. But now? I'm not so sure anymore. :( He goes and talks about retiring from football after last season. Now, he wants to return? O.O WTF? And worse yet, he doesn't show up for training camp today. And there's even talk of him being traded. O.O What kind of fucking mind games is he playing with the press, the Packers, and the public? What the hell does he want and where does he want to go? He says one thing long ago, but then changes his mind and does something else. :P I used to look up to him as an icon or a hero, but maybe not anymore.

WTF is the economy coming to? I go to my local hobby store tonight to pick up ONE small spray can of red paint to paint the hull for another ship model. Guess what the total came to?

Damn good thing I only needed one can. And you know what's worse? The price is expected to go up to $4.99 a can this Fall. Fucking crazy! At the rate prices keep going up for everything in this country, five years from now, the models I build will probably be built straight from the box with no painting, no decals, and no other added details. They'll just be bare plastic. It'll get too expensive to enjoy this hobby anymore. :(

After finishing a USS Montana battleship model project for my best friend back in March, I then decided to take a break from modeling. Well, I hate to say it, but I'm getting bored right now, and I'm itching to get started on another model. Not just any model, but another HUGE project that could take anywhere from 1-5 years to complete!
I present to you the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier:

This model is HUGE! 38 inches long! It's gonna have TONS of detail on it as well as LOTS of aircraft. One of which you can see sitting on the flight deck. ;) Here's some other pics:

One thing that I would've wanted to add, but probably won't because it would be too hard to see once the flight deck is added, is building an interior hangar bays inside the aircraft carrier similiar to what is shown here:

But adding that much detail INSIDE the aircraft carrier would tax my nerves and patience to the breaking point. x.x So I don't think I'm going to go that far.

Just another boring day here at the doghouse. :P Slept in late and did little else. Right now, just cleaning out my comp.

Removing, moving, or deleteing files.
Moving or deleteing pics.
Deleteing or moving programs.
Organising bookmarks.

I continuously add stuff to my comp, but never organise or lable anything. :P

I'm still pretty tired from traveling to and from AC, as well as the large amounts of suiting I did and also the "Stair Con" that went on. I've got Fri. and Sat. off from work at the end of this week, so I'll finish my AC2008 reports probably on Friday.

Wow. Where do I even begin? I'm so tired, it's not even funny. x.x If I forget people, places, or things, then I'm sorry. It's not easy to remember a ton of stuff crowded into 72 hours. One of these days, I'll have to take a laptop comp with me to the con and write my reports there as they are happening. :P So anyway..........

The trip going to AC was a pain in the tail. >.< To make a long story short, I'll just say that I'll be taking a plane next year instead of a train. Met up with my roommate graystonethusky at around 3pm on Thurs., then went to the room, got unpacked, then proceeded to wander the hotel and con center meeting people and checking things out.

Got up Friday morning and headed to Steel City Diner for breakfast. Didn't have to wait long as there was a seat open immediately at the counter. I really didn't want to go back this year cause I was reminded of last year about the upset stomach I got last year when I ate there. But this time, I had the Homemade French Toast which was absolutely yummy! Damn good! Also got myself a Steel City Diner AC tshirt too! Also met Uncle Kage there who was seated behind me at a booth and shook his hand and congratulated him on being chairman and running AC for 10 years. Way to go, Kage! :)
Walked into the Dealer's Den for a bit and purchased some wolf artwork by Susan van Camp. (I'll post a pic later.) Her artwork is amazing! O.O
Continued wandering around meeting people, taking pics, and just enjoying things. Got suited up for the Fursuiter Meet & Greet at 3pm. Suffice to say, maybe I shouldn't have gone. When I walked in the room, there weren't that many suiters/people there. I think the AC con staff needs to learn a lesson here: Suiters generaly congregate and meet each other more in the headless lounges or in the hallways suiting than they do when they're in a 2 hour Meet & Greet. I met more suiters in the lounges/hallways than I ever would in a 2 hour M&G.

Before I get too far in my report, I just want to say that I had plans to take things a bit easier this year. Last year at AC, things went a bit "crazy" shall we say? This year, I decided to try and relax a bit more and "go with the flow". There were still a few things or people I missed, but there's always next year. All in all, I think things went a bit better this year. ;)

Continued to stay in suit for a bit and went to the Furtopia Meet & Greet in the Zoo. It was good to see some fellow Furtopians there that I only had known by name only on a comp screen. We all just chatted and relaxed a bit before everyone went their seperate ways for dinner or other activities.
Went to the Fursuit Dance later on Fri. evening. Didn't stay very long in it, but from what little I was in it, aiden_raccoon whispered to me that we should do a "dance train" so to speak. So whenever the Friday night fursuit dance video gets put up, then look in the video for me leading everyone around the dance floor in a "train" dancing to the music. I'll be the one holding the glow in the dark Mountain Dew bottle. ;)

Saturday was the next busy and awesome day. But that will have to wait for Part 2. If I didn't mention any names of people I met, I'm sorry. You all know who you are and it was great meeting and seeing you. *hugs* :) I'm just a little too tired to write out everyone's name and put it in LJ brackets and code for it to show up properly. :P

Great con! A little short, but great nonetheless. :) I had a wonderful time, met lots of people, and did lots of suiting. I can't wait to go back again next year. :) So now my main question: Does anyone have any pics or vids of me? Please share. :) I was the green and white Mountain Dew husky as this sample pic shows:

* Pics or vids from the Fursuit Dance on Friday night. I was the one leading the "fursuiter train" around the dance floor and also waving the glow in the dark Mountain Dew bottle.
* Pics or vids from the Husky Meet & Greet on Sunday afternoon. Also looking for pics or vids of when the huskies crashed the Feline Panel, and also pics/vids of me and another husky friend who met and hugged 2 the Ranting Gryphon out in the hallway.

In about 6 hours, I'll be off to AC. :) Looking forward to seeing all my husky friends and other non-husky friends there. *wags tail* :D Kinda sad though that so many others won't be able to go to the con from all the LJ entries I'm reading. :( *sigh* Oh well. There's always next year. As long as you plan ahead, request time off now, and save your money, then you'll eventually make it to AC. For everyone that's missing AC now, I hope to see ya next year. ;)

So there's going to be two panels at AC on Sunday:

A Feline Panel, and a Husky Panel.

Felines? Overrated. :P All they do is sit around all day and sleep and preen themselves. What a bunch of lazy cats. And then they get pampered by humans with bowls of milk, tuna, and catnip just because humans can't resist their cute faces and overpowering purring. Bah!

Canines? We're the top dog. :) We play fetch, chase cars and mailmen, guard houses from burglars (When's the last time you saw a cat do that? Never.), we love playing with kids, we go hunting with the humans, etc.

Let's face it, canines rule! ^^

Woohoo! Vacation time is here! Yay! Nine straight days of relaxing, fun, and just plain being lazy. :P

3 DAYS TILL AC!

Just one more day of work tomorrow, and then I'll be off till July 1st for vacation. Yay! :D

And only 4 more days till AC for me. Yay!

And you know what the third piece of good news is? There's another damn VIP inspection at work during next week *growls*........but I won't be there to see it! Haha! :D Yay!

Packing will probably get done on Monday or Tuesday.
